Let's Take A Journey Into The Avatar State

Prompt:The above picture.
Pairing:Implied! Mako X Korra

It’s cold, much colder than he thought it would be. He continues walking down the street anyway, his hands stuffed in his pocket and his face tucked under his scarf, hiding his mouth. He only came out to clear his head a bit and Bolin was being much too loud for him to do such a thing at home.
He quickly finds himself at the pond, surprised to see Korra standing on the edge. He stays back as he watches her bend the water. She moves her arms back and forth, simply moving the water to make little waves. With a flick of her wrist the water is turned into a whip as she steps out, whipping the invisible enemy. She starts to just move the water back and forth again.
He hasn’t ever seen her do some of the basic water bending moves and he can she how relaxing it is for her. Her face shows happiness in her true element. A smile twitches the corner of his lips and it’s then she sees him. A smile forms on her lips, one different than the one that graced her lips while bending. Her hand is waving in the air and he pulls his hand out of his pocket to return the wave.
He doesn’t much feel like talking. He never really feels like talking, but he walks over anyway, the chill from the water penetrating his coat. “What brings you here?” Korra asks. He simply shrugs his shoulders, turning his golden eyes toward the water. Korra doesn’t say anything else and Naga gives her arm a little nudge. Korra seems to get more meaning out of that then he ever will. “I’ll see you tomorrow. Naga wants something to eat.”
He turns his eyes back to Korra and nods. “See you tomorrow.” A soft smile, one he doesn’t see often, is placed on her lips and she turns to walk away. He wants to stop her, wants to pull her into his arms. But he can’t. He knows he can’t. No matter how much comfort she needs or how much comfort he needs, he can’t.
Her form retreats and he pulls his scarf higher up his nose, his eyes down cast at the ground. “Mako?” Her voice startles him and he jumps a bit, but he looks up, his golden orbs meeting her blue ones. “If you ever need to talk, I’m here. Remember, Team Avatar!” A small chuckle leaves his lips. “We always have each other’s back!”
He nods. He knows they have his back, but they also have their own problems to deal with, especially Korra. He can’t even imagine what she is going through. “I’ll keep that in mind. Now go get Naga some food.” She laughs a soft, sweet laugh and nods, running off in the opposite direction, waving over her shoulder. He waves back until she is around the corner.
His eyes fall back on the pond, his problems playing in his mind. He doesn’t need to share them, to talk. He doesn’t want to burden them with unnecessary things.
